How Build Your Battlefield Works

Build Your Battlefield is a modular terrain system designed to let you create, rebuild and expand your tabletop battlefield whenever you want.

Instead of buying fixed buildings that always stay the same, you build your terrain from individual wall sections, connectors and themed components. Put together a dense city block for one game, take it apart afterwards, and build something completely different the next time.

1. Choose Your Theme

Start by choosing the environment you want to build.

Each theme has its own visual style, wall designs and signature terrain elements. Industrial sectors can be filled with piping and machinery, ruined sectors bring damaged architecture and defensive elements, while other themes introduce their own distinctive features.

All Build Your Battlefield themes use the same modular system, so you are not locked into just one. Mix different sectors together, expand an existing battlefield or use elements from one theme to add character to another.

2. Build With Modular Walls

The core of the system is made up of individual wall sections.

Our standard wall elements are 2 inches wide and 3 inches high, giving you a simple building block that can be combined into anything from a small ruin to a large multi-room structure.

A full Sector includes 80 inches of wall, giving you 40 individual wall elements to work with.

Because you decide where every wall goes, there is no fixed building layout. Straight walls, corners, rooms, streets, courtyards and larger structures can all be created using the same pieces.

3. Connect Everything Together

The wall sections are held together using reusable connectors.

Simply slot your walls into the connectors to create corners, longer structures and more complex layouts. When the game is over, pull everything apart and start again.

There is no need to permanently glue your buildings together.

That is what makes the system truly modular. The same terrain can change from game to game instead of becoming one fixed piece of scenery.

4. Add the Character

Walls create the structure of the battlefield, but the themed elements make it feel like a real place.

Depending on the Sector, you can add things such as piping, barricades, elevated sections, doors, signs, machinery, decoration and other details.

These elements are designed to work alongside the core wall system, giving you more ways to change the appearance and function of your battlefield.

You can keep things simple or fill the table with details. It is entirely up to you.

5. Build Your Battlefield

Once you have the pieces, there is no prescribed layout to follow.

Build a factory.

Create a ruined city street.

Make a fortified position.

Construct several smaller buildings or combine everything into one large structure.

Then take it apart and build something else.

That freedom is the whole idea behind Build Your Battlefield. We design the components, but the final battlefield is yours.

Expand Whenever You Want

The system is designed to grow with you.

Add another Sector when you want a larger table, introduce a new theme, or pick up additional walls and terrain elements to increase the number of layouts you can create.

Because the system remains compatible across the range, new pieces do not replace what you already own. They give you more ways to use it.

One Sector can create a battlefield.

Two can create something much larger.

And the more you add, the more possibilities you have.

Painted or Unpainted

If you enjoy the hobby side of terrain, choose your set unpainted and make the battlefield completely your own.

If you would rather start playing straight away, select the painted & battle-ready option. We paint the terrain in-house using airbrushing, shading, drybrushing and picked-out details to give the complete set a cohesive tabletop finish.

Painted orders may take a little longer to dispatch, as every set is finished by hand and we would rather take the time to do it properly than rush your battlefield out the door.
