Something ancient is starting to emerge.
We’re currently exploring one of the future themes for Build Your Battlefield: Overgrown Temple, a theme inspired by forgotten ruins, jungle temples and structures slowly being reclaimed by nature.
The image above is one of the first early Blender renders from the development process. It is still very much a work in progress, but it already shows the direction we’re taking: heavy stonework combined with creeping vines and dense vegetation, creating terrain that feels old, abandoned and overgrown without sacrificing the modularity of the Build Your Battlefield system.
As with our existing sectors, the goal is to create a range of interchangeable wall designs that can be combined into anything from a small ruined shrine to an entire temple complex. We’re also designing the details specifically with physical production in mind, keeping the vegetation readable at miniature scale while making sure the finished pieces remain durable, castable and easy to paint.
Overgrown Temple will remain fully compatible with the rest of the Build Your Battlefield range, opening up plenty of possibilities for mixing themes as well. An ancient temple swallowed by an industrial complex? A ruined city slowly reclaimed by the jungle? That part is up to you.
This is only an early look. The stonework, vegetation and individual wall variants will continue to evolve as we develop the sector.
More from the Overgrown Temple is coming soon.
